Perhaps most notably, the growth rate of women workers wa

s higher than men in new media operators and data analysts among the five professions, illustrating that burgeoning career opportunities and skill requ

normally had more household duties, especially in the era of universal two-child policy, he said.

Lu also said that the number of people engaged in human-centered job positions was growing faster than other rules.

“It implied that jobs requiring insights into people’s preferences and habits, such a

A survey jointly conducted by research firm Trustdata and LinkedIn in April found career starters w

The reform and opening-up policies are exactly the ki

inds of market-driven reforms needed to make this happen. The Chinese government is investing heavily in resear

ch and development, but it should be noted that the R&D spending as a percentage of GDP is still lower than that of the US.

Nobody likes competition against themselves. So, it must be admitted that China’s transition to a high-tech, high-

value-added economy will come as a shock to many companies around the world. The US economy, which has about 7

percent of GDP in high-tech manufacturing, will be lightly affected by this change.

On the other hand, advanced manufacturing contributes around 20 percent of GDP in Sout

h Korea, Japan, Germany and a few smaller European countries. They will be much more directly affected.

As the world’s second-largest movie market with a grow

th rate of more than 9 percent three years in a row, the Chinese film market is extreme

ly open and inclusive with outstanding movies from around the world, fine works of Hollyw

ood in particular, being screened in China even before they are shown in other countries.

This shows China’s decision to open up its film market in the trough in 1995 was absolutely right. Since then the quota for Hollywo

od movies has been significantly raised from the initial 10 films a year. The opening up of the Chinese movie ma

rket proves that the more open and inclusive a film market is, the higher the number of good films it will generate o

wing to the active and beneficial exchanges with the world’s most advanced filmmaking countries.

The remarkable performance of about a dozen Chinese movies in recent

years makes it clear that well-made films that showcase Chinese culture and touch Chin

The school established an AI research institute in Decem

ber 2017 for graduate students. Many instructors at the school are working on AI-related res

China’s booming AI industry has resulted in a growing demand for tal

already committed to companies before they even graduate and enter the job market, he said.

Master’s graduates majoring in AI can easily find jobs with salaries over 300,000 y

uan ($44,700) per year, and salaries for doctoral graduates are even higher, he said.

Chinese universities are catching up with their counterparts in the United

States in terms of basic research in AI and the numbe

Tu Liangcheng, one of the leading scientists of the Tia

“So far nearly 200 Chinese scientists from more than 30 dome

stic research institutions and universities and about 30 researchers from at l

east eight other countries-including Russia, Italy, Germany and France-have participated in the pr

oject,” said Tu, who is also director of the gravitation center at the Wuhan university.

Shen Zhiqiang, head of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, and a membe

r of the EHT team, said the success of the first black hole image has encouraged Chinese scientists to engage in mo

re international collaboration and boost the country’s ability in studying deep space.

Chinese scientists participated in Hawaii and Spain in the observations

that yielded the black hole image. They were highly involved in follow-up data analysis and th

Researchers have unearthed a trove of well-preserved

fossils representing more than 50 previously undescribed animal species dating back 518 million years.

The soft tissues of their bodies, including muscles, organs, eyes and mouths are still visible in some

of the 4,351 fossils discovered in Yichang, Hubei province, according to a new study published in the journ

al Science on Friday. The excavated fossils represent 109 species, including known jelly fish, arthropods and algae.

Fu Dongjing, associate professor at Northwest University in Xi’an, Shaanxi, also the first author of the paper, said the research g

roup started exploring the ancient ruins in the summer of 2007, in Changyang Tujia autonomous county. It was lo

cated on the bank of Qingjiang River where a representative insect from the Cambrian period was first found.

The new trove of fossils called the Qingjiang biota-the living organisms of a region-ha

ve the potential to greatly inform the understanding of early animal evolution, according to the study.

About 542 million years ago, life on earth diversified at an extremely rapid pace, known as t

he Cambrian explosion. Almost all present animal categories appeared at that time. Many creatures wen

t extinct in the process of evolution, but others became the initial form of future organisms.

The brotherly bailout is striking because Mukesh Ambani pla

The Mumbai billionaire stunned India in September 2016 when he launched a ne

The move triggered a brutal price war, forcing some companies to quit the market altogether, including Reliance Communications.

Indian billionaire turns to bankruptcy court after losing 4G price war with his brother

Anil Ambani’s company, once one of India’s biggest mobile pl

ayers, announced in late 2017 that it would sell its main consumer mobile business to Reli

ance Jio in order to focus on providing data services to corporate clients.

That deal has now been abandoned, the two companies said Monday. An Indian bankruptcy court will instead auct

ion off Reliance Communications’ mobile assets to pay off the company’s $7 billion debt.

The Ambani brothers have had a tumultuous and often acrim

ssion battle for control of the vast Reliance business empire that he had spent decades building.
